By Christina Benjamin
In the midst of daily living—the chores, the cares, the routines, the work, the effort—
Thoughts of you are rare. But when the noise quiets and the pace slows,
Sometimes my mind drifts toward you.
You feel distant, yet strangely close.
Should I spend time thinking about you?
Is it wishful thinking—like staring at clouds drifting across blue skies,
Untraceable, fleeting, and mostly unproductive?
Time is money, they say. Time is non-refundable, non-returnable.
Like the clouds, it moves on.
The future—are you really there?
Will we get to see you, hold you, celebrate you?
How is it there?

How did we do?
Did we rediscover the lost meaning of true freedom?
Or did we trade it for glittering illusions—mirages of wealth and success?
Did we reclaim justice—the pillars of equity and neutrality?
Did it shape a society that responds and takes responsibility?
Are all her citizens thriving?
Or did we miss it—distracted by our devices,
Bound to our 9-to-5s, enslaved by a new rhythm of limitation?
Did we find the equality and equity we longed for?
Do we celebrate diversity and inclusion as the norm?
Or did we lose the joy of honoring uniqueness—
Souls burdened with proving their worth to a world that didn’t care?
Did we find truth in exposure, light in darkness?
Or did we turn our light into shadows?
Did we come together as humanity—for the earth,
For the living and non-living alike?
Did we understand that we are eternal souls on a shared journey,
Renting space for a lifetime,
A space that links past and future souls?
Or did we leave it in ruins—
A generation that never got to witness its glory,
Never shared in its beauty or power to sustain life?
Do nations still exist?
The cultures, the vibrant smiles,
The colors of our skin echoing the shades of the earth?
Do we love our flaws, our brokenness, our scars and strengths?
Or do we only push through with power,
Forgetting the quiet strength of vulnerability?
Do we still feel—anything instinct-led?
Are we disconnected from our past?
I wonder, as I walk beneath skies that slowly darken…
But I see hope for the nations.
I see a future waiting to be born—
Where brave souls once dared to move forward with hope,
Through fog, through pain,
Building something bigger than themselves.
Together, they faced their fears,
And the fears of others.
They fought the shadows.
They fought for a future not yet seen—
Erasing the limits of borders,
Connecting as souls sharing space across earth, across time.
