📖 Read This Slowly: 1 Peter 2:9–10 (NLT)

“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people.
You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.
As a result, you can show others the goodness of God,
for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.

Once you had no identity as a people,
now you are God’s people.
Once you received no mercy,

• YOU ARE CHOSEN
• YOU ARE ROYAL PRIESTS
• YOU ARE GOD’S PEOPLE
• You were once in the dark—now you shine in His light.

This is your identity. Not just for today, but for your whole life—and beyond, into eternity.

This is not just for you…it says ‘As as result you can show others!!’

We are kingdom builders that bridge the gap between Kingdom of Heaven and Earth (all creation – people).

A priest bridges the gap between God and people.
A royal carries authority, but also responsibility.

You are called to:

• Worship and walk closely with God
• Pray for others and the world
• Serve with courage and compassion
• Stand in spiritual battles
• Show others the goodness of God – reflect His relationship with you to encourage others

👕 What Are You Wearing?

Let’s talk about spiritual clothing. But First let’s see where clothing came in first per the Bible.

👣 First Garments: Genesis 3

• Adam and Eve wore fig leaves (shame) – They wore it out of shame and to hide themselves 😔
• God made garments from animal skin (sacrifice and covering) – The first sacrifice for sin & the leather design by God 😉

Now lets travel further into the future a place in the desert – Where God provides clothing or rather instructions for its design

🧵 Clothing of the Priesthood – Exodus 28

• Gold, blue, purple, and scarlet threads
• Garments made for glory and beauty
• Worn by priests to reflect God’s holiness – High Priest is Jesus, Every Priest would wear a Tunic, Sash and Head covering/Turban like you saw in the main identity series homepage.
• Christ is our High Priest and we are his priests serving in God’s temple & we are also royalty, co-heirs.

✨ God’s Garment: Psalm 104:2 (AMPC)

“[You are the One] Who covers Yourself with light as with a garment…”

God wears light. And He wants to clothe you in His glory.

🧥👑 Clothing of Royalty

📖 Genesis 41:42 – Pharaoh dressed Joseph in fine linen and placed a gold chain around his neck to mark his new authority.

📖 Esther 5:1 – “Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court…” Her clothing reflected courage, dignity, and her role as queen.

📖 Revelation 7:14 – “They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” White robes = purity, victory, and belonging to God.

Ephesians 6 : Best describes the functional clothing of royalty and priesthood.

🛡️ Your Gear Is for Function, Not Fashion -You don’t wear spiritual armor to look holy—you wear it to live holy. Also the garments are not something that can be demanded or misused for power. The High Priest garment is Christ and the other priests (us) follow Him & his instructions. It is through His blood, His victory and receiving Him do we then receive all authority on Heaven and Earth to intercede for others as royal priesthood.

Royalty attracts warfare— not flesh and blood. It is a responsibility and since you will stand in the gap for others there will be battles for justice, truth, identity etc.. But we fight NOT FOR VICTORY but FROM VICTORY since we are clothed by God! in truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word. andd….. PRAYER.

“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” –^{Romans 8 : 37}

In summary the clothes represent our roles well:

👑🛡️ What You Wear Spiritually: Practical Application

🧬 1. Your Identity Is Inherited, Not Earned

In the Old Testament:

• Priesthood came by birth—only Levites could serve.
• Royalty was passed down through family lines.

But in the New Testament:

“To all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God.” — John 1:12

Now:

• You are adopted into God’s family.
• You are legally part of His royal priesthood.
• Your spiritual clothing is your birthright in Christ.

Just like a child inherits their parents’ name, protection, and authority—you inherit spiritual gear because of your relationship with the Father.

🧭 You are clothed in purpose: not shame, but praise (Isaiah 61:3)

• You are equipped to serve: not just survive, but lead
• You are called to build bridges: between heaven and earth, God and people
• You are authorized to pray, worship, and act on behalf of others

Your spiritual wardrobe is not just symbolic—it’s active gear for your mission.

“This week, try one of these:

• Pray for someone who’s hurting (Priesthood)
• Speak truth when it’s hard (Royal courage)
• Serve someone quietly (Royal humility)
• Write down one lie you’ve believed—and replace it with God’s truth (Armor of God)”
